The wife of Uriah Edwards was Mildred Head.  Some information on this family, came from a book ----- "Decent of Henry Head (1695-1770)"; ----- compiled and written by Idress Head Alvord of Palmyra Missouri --- 1949.  Information was also found in William Crozier's --- "Spotsylvania County, Virginia Records."  The first Head in America of this line of whom there is documentary evidence of, is one Henry Head, of Spotsylvania County, Virginia.  He lived in the area of the Uriah Edwards farm.

Henry Head, a planter, was born circa 1695, and died in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, on May 5, 1765.  Henry married Frances Spence, daughter of colonial Doctor, Alexander Spence.  Dr. Spence was a member of the House of Burgesses, that met in Williamsburg, Virginia.

He made a Will, dated February 25, 1765, which was probated and proven  on May 7, 1772.  An appraisal of Henry Head Sr.'s Estate was made in 1770.  Final settlement of the Estate was not made until 1773.  In this appraisal, there were listed 8 slaves, 5 pewter dishes, 380 other dishes, as well as other property.  Mildred Head Edwards, wife of Uriah Edwards is specifically mentioned as his daughter in this Will.

The known children of Henry Head and Frances Spence, as listed in his Will, were:

 1. Henry Head Jr., born circa 1716.
 2. Alexander Spence Head, born circa 1721.
 3. Mildred Head, born circa 1722, wife of Uriah Edwards.
 4. Benjamin Head, born about 1731.

No doubt there were other children, but these were all that were mentioned in his Will.

Henry Head Jr., was born circa 1716.  He married Mary ___???___, and they lived in St George's Parish, Spotsylvania County, Virginia. He was the executor of his father's Estate.  The final settlement of this Estate was made on September 1, 1773.

Alexander Spence Head, was born circa 1721, and died after 1790, in St George's Parish of Spotsylvania County, Virginia.  He married a Sarah ___???___.  Records show that he also lived in nearby Berkeley Parish, of the same County.  In 1744 he bought 166 acres of land and later he added some 500 acres more.

Known children of Alexander Spence Hear and Sarah, his wife, proven by various Spotsylvania Co., Virginia Deeds:

Isaac
Henry
David married Isabella ___???___

Mildred Head, who married Uriah Edwards.  More about this family, and her descendants in "A History of ONE EDWARDS FAMILY in America."

Benjamin Head, was born circa __???___, and died before 15 Feb 1790.
He married Gracie ________, who died ___???___, in ___???___.
He apparently owned land in Spotsylvania Co., Orange Co., and Culpepper Co., Virginia

Benjamin and his wife, Grace, had the following known children

Benjamin Head who married Milly Long.  Benjamin died in 1808, Woodford (Franklin) Co., Kentucky
Frances Head who married Elizabeth ___???___
